Friday: We dropped off some CD’s I rented from the library and then we went to our favorite restaurant, Costco, for dinner. I know it is super horrible for us and in the New Year we won’t be frequenting it but right now it is cheap and quick. After Costco we stopped in at Michaels to pick up a ‘Welcome’ sign we had framed. We had it made while we were in Disneyland in September. It spells Welcome using Disney Characters. It is pretty neat and colorful. And while it might not suit other people, it is totally us. While we were at Michaels one of the ladies that works there, Tammy, who has helped us before (super nice) was going around telling people they were her friends and she was giving them an extra 40% off their purchase (even sales items!). I guess Michaels has this promotion for Michaels family and friends 3 times a year. We ended up picking up 3 frames for our spray paint art and a 8x12 frame for the picture the resort photographer took that came with our wedding package. We started watching Love Actually (another must watch holiday movie!) but turned it off half way through because I was starting to fall asleep (I really shouldn’t want movies in bed! I get all warm and comfy and drowsy!).
Saturday: This is the first year in a very long long time that I am not prepared for Christmas. Usually all my gifts are finished being bought beginning of December and have been wrapped and under the tree for weeks now. Alexander and I went out on Saturday to pick up some gifts we were missing. After battling traffic and crowds of crazy people, next year I am going to be back on track! I don’t want to be dealing with crazy people AND I don’t want to be stressed about what to buy people. We stopped off at Walmart first too look at curling irons (for Alexanders cousin) and to see if they had any iPad covers. I bought a curling iron for her and me and when I tried it at home later I found out it sucks so they will have to go back (Fun times. Not). No luck on the iPad cover but we stopped off at Future Shop and I picked a nice one up. We stopped off at Bulk Barn because I saw super hot chips and my brother likes to burn his mouth for some crazy reason so I picked him up 2 bags and we picked up some nibbles (do not go back into that store when you are hungry!!!!!). After we went back to Michaels because the frame we bought Friday night for our wedding picture had a big scratch on the glass we didn’t notice. We did a straight exchange but when we got it home and out of the wrapping the new frame was even worse than the last one!
After we got home Alexander chilled while I started wrapping gifts and finished watching Love Actually. Then we headed out to my parents for dinner to celebrate my moms birthday.
Sunday: We didn’t finish all our shopping Saturday so we headed to WEM! I didn’t find it that bad. I have been there on Halloween and that was much much worse. We got there at noon so maybe it wasn’t super busy yet. We were able to find a nice close-ish parking spot. We walked around a bit and I picked up a different curling iron for Alexander’s cousin. We did the mandatory stop in at The Disney Store and it broke my little heart when we went into PJ Pets, and all the little kitties that don’t have a home. I’m glad they are collaborating with the SPCA so the older cats have a chance.
After WEM we stopped in at Independent Jewellers to check out their Q Ray band bracelet things as my dad wanted one for Christmas. A tad bit out of our gift limit and even if it was in our limit I wouldn’t know what style he would like. We got home and Alexander took a nap and I chatted with my friend Penny. At 7:30pm we headed out to meet D and Ee at The Melting Pot for dinner. It was yummy but way too much food! It was also a long meal! We didn’t get out of the restaurant until 11pm! The Melting Pot is good for something different and unique but I wouldn’t go all the time, maybe just once a year at max. Monday morning came to fast and I can’t believe it is less than a week away until Christmas! It doesn’t feel like it. I blame it on no snow.
