Dream Job

Lisa was talking about dream jobs yesterday on her blog.  My dream job would have awesome pay, great benefits, flex time, fantastic vacation time, stock options, and bonuses. Just to name a few things.  It is too bad that I have to say I am probably asking for too much in most cases.  Oh, and if possible it would entail travel to lots of exotic places as well *grin*  I would even forgo some of those things if I was in a job that kept me busy most of the time.  Being bored makes for a long day!

I also think what makes a job great is the people you work for and if the work doesn’t feel like work.  I’ve been lucky a few times that I’ve worked with great people.  At TM we hung out together after work, we would go into TM when we weren’t working to hang out with whoever was working etc.  It was also a fun environment, I mean who doesn’t like being creative and being surrounded by colourful paper and embellishments?  At Petro I didn’t realize the group of people I worked with was something special until I was gone.  We have even gotten together a few times after the project finished and people moved onto different things/places.  Heck, a couple weeks ago I was driving back from a DQ run and across the street from where I work there was an old Petro co-worker dropping stuff off at the re-use furniture place.  I went over and got a big hug and a brief catch up.  And up in the middle of nowhere when you eat breakfast, lunch and dinner together and sleep in the same “house” together, you get to be quite close to your co-workers.  Heck, 2 old co-workers are actually coming to my wedding!

But if time and money weren’t a concern I would really like to go back to school and become an anthropologist.  A cultural anthropologist.  Cultural anthropology would go hand in hand with my love of travel and wanting to see the world!  The anthropology courses I took at school I loved!

There are just SO many different jobs out in the world!
